Creating An Optimal Lineup For Week 9 Thursday Night Football

  • Davante Adams is the highest-ranked player on daily fantasy football sites for Thursday Night Football.
  • Aaron Rodgers is priced at $15,000 on fantasy football sites.
  • Ross Dwelley is listed at just $6,000 on DFS sites.

SAN FRANCISCO – With Week 9 of the NFL season on the horizon, a Thursday Night Football matchup between the Green Bay Packers and San Francisco 49ers is slated to kick off the week.

Legal betting sites allow their users to create single game lineups for Thursday Night Football in which it is a five-man roster where one of the players is selected to the MVP slot. This means that the one MVP slot player earns 1.5 times the points that the other players earn.

With that being said, this is just a suggested lineup and daily fantasy football owners and GM’s should change the lineup to their likings.

MVP – Davante Adams, WR, $15,500
AnyFLEX – Aaron Rodgers, QB, $15,000
AnyFLEX – Nick Mullens, QB, $12,000
AnyFLEX – JaMycal Hasty, RB, $11,000
AnyFLEX – Ross Dwelley, TE, $6,000

Davante Adams

Adams is the clear option here to fill out the MVP slot as his chemistry with Aaron Rodgers is arguably the best in the league.

He leads the team in targets as he has done in his past three games with 10,16 and 11 targets and has been on an absolute monstrous tear in his (* last two games where he has gone for 13 receptions, 196 yards and 2 touchdowns and 7 receptions, 53 yards, and 3 touchdowns.

In the five games that Adams has suited up for this season, three of them have seen over 26 fantasy points with two of them seeing over 30 points. Adams will be the best player on the field for Thursday Nights matchup and he will look to completely overpower a depleted 49ers team.

Aaron Rodgers

Filling out the first flex slot is Aaron Rodgers who needs absolutely no introduction. As mentioned before, his chemistry with Davante Adams is incredible and will surely be on display Thursday night.

Rodgers has also been on hot streak in his last two games as well as he went for 291 yards and 3 touchdowns in Week 8 for 22.5 fantasy points and 283 yards and 4 touchdowns in Week 7 for 27.3 fantasy points.

He has shown time and time again why he is a great fantasy football quarterback and will look to do so against the 49ers as they are very short-handed heading into the week.

Nick Mullens

Nick Mullens fills out the second flex spot on the roster here as he is now the 49ers QB1.

Mullens has filled in at the QB1 for three games this season and has played decent. In Week 3, he took over against the Giants and went for 343 yards and a touchdown for 17.7 fantasy points. One week later he struggles as he only put up 200 yards and a touchdown but threw two interceptions.

In Week 8, however, he had a nice game as well where he went for 238 yards and two touchdowns. Mullens also offers great value at his asking price as he could come out and have a repeat performance of previous weeks.

JaMycal Hasty

Taking over the third flex roster spot is JaMycal Hasty who is serving as the 49ers primary running back. Hasty is filling in for the injured Raheem Mostert and Tevin Coleman. Hasty is in line for a huge workload in Week 9 as all of the 49ers starting receivers are either out with an injury or are listed on the COVID-19 list. Hasty has seen 9 or more rush attempts in his last three games and could see that total possibly double here being that they are so shorthanded. Luckily for Hasty, his matchup here in Week 9 is against a weak Packers run defense that ranks 32 in the NFL when it comes to defending against the run. In two of the Packers last three games, they have allowed the opposing teams primary running back go for 163 yards and three touchdowns and 113 yards and two touchdowns. That being said, Hasty could pop off tonight.

Ross Dwelley

Filling out the final roster spot is Ross Dwelley who will offer the most value on this roster if things go right.

Being that all of the 49ers receivers are either out or on the COVID-19 list, Dwelley is really the only reliable pass catching option here for the 49ers. Also, now with George Kittle out for an extended period of time, Dwelley will move into the TE1 slot and take those first-team reps. In the two games that Kittle was out earlier this year, Dwelley stepped in and had five catches for 54 yards.

In his last game, however, he saw four targets and managed one reception for a 16-yard touchdown. Dwelley will serve as a security blanket for Nick Mullens which could certainly get him the receptions he needs to be valuable.
