Potent Posh to keep the up pace the promotion push

Peterborough are setting the early pace in League One and they can maintain their promotion push with victory at Crewe.

Posh were only a point out of the playoff places when last season was cut short and they have since had to deal with the departure of leading marksman Ivan Toney to Brentford.

However, Peterborough have an excellent recruitment policy and they never struggle to find their next London Road star.

Jonson Clarke Harris has slotted in effortlessly to Toney’s vacant role and he has formed a great understanding with Sirki Dembele, who is really beginning to come of age.

Peterborough are unbeaten in eight League One contests, winning on seven occasions and have fired in 21 goals in just 11 matches.

Defensively there are also few concerns. Posh have conceded just nine goals this season and they have kept four clean sheets in their last seven league contests, with three of those coming in their most recent four away games.

That doesn’t bode well for Crewe, who have scored just eight times in ten league outings with only a shot-shy Shrewsbury have scored fewer.

Crewe have lost four of their last five League One games, with all their defeats finishing 1-0 and we predict a repeat result here.
