Race 2 – #1 No Parole
This 3 year old colt will get the services of Luis Saez in the irons. No Parole has 4 wins in 5 career races and will be flying late, with the #2 Meru and #5 Shoplifted, going at it early for the pace leader. Haylee Amoss has been talking about how it should be a great day for this horse and with the way he has been working out, we see no reason to argue. Look for the closer to come flying late and get the win!
Race 4 – #1 Decorated Invader
One of our top plays of the day, this Christophe Clement will have Joel Rosario up for the mount. He is coming off a win at Gulfstream Park in March in the Cutler Bay Stakes, where he posted his best numbers among 5 career races. He now has 3 wins in 5 races and should have enough in the tank to get the 4th win today. Odds won’t be nothing special but a win‘s a win this early in the card.
Race 6 – #2 Sweet Melania
This American Pharoah 3-year old has never finished off the board in 6 career races. She has 2 wins, 1 place finish and 3 show finishes. She is coming in off a 231 day layoff however this is Todd Pletcher and he wouldn’t enter this horse in a stakes race if he didn’t think he had her in good enough shape to win. Jose Ortiz will be in the irons and we think she gets up for the win here on Belmont Day!
Race 10 – Belmont Stakes (Wagers Below)
The Belmont Stakes is one of the more competitive races on the card and it really is an open race. Barclay Tagg has the favorite in the #8 Tiz The Law. Rightfully so, this horse is a grade 1 winner that has been spectacular in 4 of 5 races. He has 4 wins under his belt in 5 career races. His main competition should come from #2 Sole Volante but don’t overlook Linda Rice’s lightly raced 3-year #3 Max Player and Todd Pletcher’s #5 Farmington Road. Both of these horses are going to benefit from the added distance of 2 turns and they could end up having a bit more kick late in the race than Tiz The Law. While I think Tiz The Law is the best horse in the field, I am not sure how he will do against this group of horses. There are a ton of questions that linger and therefore, I am going to lean to the #3 Max Player as a longshot. Mrs Linda Rice is really putting out some clean, sharp horses this summer and you best believe she is coming ready to not only compete, but to win this race!
WIN, PLACE, SHOW – #3 Max Player | Exacta – 3-5-8 | Triple – 3-8/3-8/1-2-5
Race 7 – #1 Sky Magician
Mike Trombetta took this horse out of Stakes Company and since that point, he has been simply unstoppable. Back to back wins for this one in Allowance Company and now he enters another allowance race against somewhat lesser competition. Julian Pimentel will get the mount of Trombetta and expect another big race at his home track of Laurel Park.
