When the campaign was put on hold earlier this year, Lazio trailed Juventus by just a single point. However, the Eagles’ wretched run has seen them fall eight points behind the league leader with only five games left to play this term.
This clash should have been a title decider. But with Atalanta and Inter both enjoying impressive streaks, Lazio will now be lucky to clinch second place.
In this post, I assess the odds before sharing my Juventus vs. Lazio prediction and betting pick.

Before the shutdown, I’m sure the odds for the away win would have been a lot lower in this fixture. There was very little to separate Juventus and Lazio earlier in the season, but the Old Lady has started to run away with the title.
The price for the draw stands out to me, although it’s difficult to look past Juventus. Nevertheless, let’s assess both teams’ chances.
Juventus vs. Lazio Preview
Thanks to Lazio, this season’s Serie A title race has been the closest for a number of years. Juventus usually has the Scudetto wrapped up at this stage of the campaign, but the Bianconeri hasn’t had it all their own way this term. Having said that, is anyone really surprised that Juventus is on the verge of clinching a tenth consecutive title? I’m certainly not.
Four straight victories after the restart saw the defending champion pull away at the summit, and despite failing to win any of their previous three games, Juventus is still on course to secure yet another Serie A crown. Recent draws against Atalanta and Sassuolo, along with a rare defeat to Milan, have delayed the title celebrations for now. But a win on Monday would all but confirm the inevitable.
Things could not have gone much worse for Lazio lately. The Eagles had only lost two of their 26 league games before the stoppage, with a remarkable 21-game unbeaten streak putting them in contention for the title. However, a dreadful run of two wins in seven outings since the resumption has virtually ended their chances of toppling Juventus.
The capital club ended a run of three successive defeats with a goalless draw against Udinese last time out, meaning Simone Inzaghi’s side has taken just one point from a possible 12 in July. Let’s be honest, a trip to the Allianz Stadium is the last thing Lazio needs right now.
Juventus vs. Lazio Prediction and Pick
Juventus to Win
Despite their woeful run, I’m expecting Lazio to rise to the occasion on Monday. However, I’m backing the home side to come away with all three points. Ultimately, I believe that Juventus will be eager to assert their authority over their failed title rival.
