What a week it’s been. Daylight Savings, Covid cancellations (including Air Force vs. Army), MACtion, and a few other things. Crazy stuff.

I’ll try to fall back on election talk, but if you think I won’t use some of what’s going on right now to help make my picks, you don’t know gambling. All factors must be considered.

Due to the nationwide fiasco occurring before our eyes, I’ll keep it short and sweet this week. I’m not going to get into details about my 5-8 overall record this season, or how I could easily be 7-6 had I not lost both my Unders last week by a combined three points.

Let’s just get to the damn picks.

(NOTE: All lines via BetMGM as of Thursday, November 5)

UTAH STATE @ NEVADA -17 ; O/U 56.5 ; 4 P.M. PT (THURSDAY)

Sure, the Wolf Pack are rollin’ so far after opening up the season with two impressive wins. But if you think I’m trusting anything coming out of that state right now, you’re crazy. Crazier than this guy:

Nevada is one of the most incompetent states in the country right now, and I think 17 points is just too much. Utah State should show some signs of life this week after getting dominated by Boise and SDSU. The Wolf Pack win, but I think the Aggies keep it within the number.

The Pick: Utah State +17 Bet on this at BetMGM

WYOMING -3.5 @ COLORADO STATE ; O/U 54 ; 6 P.M. PT (THURSDAY)

The Cowboys bounced back in a big way last week, while the Rams struggled in their first game of the season.

Counting the second half against Nevada, and last week’s game against Hawaii, Levi Williams is looking very comfortable now under center for Wyoming. This is also their second straight Rivalry Trophy game, and they have won four straight in what is known as the Border War against CSU.

I’m tempted to pick the Rams as home dogs this week, especially after Colorado passed a law allowing pitbulls in the state for the first time in 30 years, but I gotta ride with the Cowboys.

The Pick: Wyoming -3.5Bet on this at BetMGM

SAN JOSE STATE @ SAN DIEGO STATE -9.5 ; O/U 47.5 ; 6 P.M. PT (FRIDAY)

Look, I’ll admit it, the Spartans are impressing me this season. Something special may be brewing in the South Bay.

Additionally, after watching conspiracy theory videos all last weekend, I now have a hunch the Silicon Valley tech bros may be lending some of their “PEDs” to the San Jose State athletic department, as well as some duffle bags of cash to help improve the quality of life down in that area. I digress, though.

Regardless of how good the Spartans look, the Aztecs are ballin’ right now, and I declared last week that I’m ALL the way back in on the Brady Hoke Train. I also like the fact that Hoke and Co. get to study last week’s film of San Jose State’s offense against Rocky Long and New Mexico’s 3-3-5, the same defense they’re still using for the most part.

The Pick: San Diego State -9.5 Bet on this at BetMGM

Where to Watch: CBS Sports Network

BYU -3.5 @ BOISE STATE ; O/U 61 ; 6:45 P.M. PT (FRIDAY)

I hate to admit it, but BYU is playing some real good football this season. The Cougars are dominating teams, and they seem to be on a mission (no pun intended) for potential College Football Playoff consideration.

That being said, the Broncos aren’t messing around either. They covered as heavy favorites in both of their wins this season.

Will the Blue Turf make a difference? Tough to say, but without a full house of fans, I don’t think so.

The Pick: BYU -3.5 Bet on this game at BetMGM

Where to Watch: FS1

FRESNO STATE -11 @ UNLV ; O/U 58 ; 12:30 P.M. PT

UNLV is the worst team in the conference right now, and just to reiterate, I really can’t trust anything or anyone from Nevada right now.

Fresno looked solid last weekend, picking up their first win of the season. I expect them to get into a nice groove here the next few weeks under new head coach Kalen DeBoer.

The Pick: Fresno State -11 Bet on this at BetMGM

Where to Watch: CBS Sports Network

NEW MEXICO @ HAWAII -15.5 ; O/U 62.5 ; 8 P.M. PT

New Mexico played San Jose State pretty tough in their first game of the season, while The Rainbow Warriors got bullied by Wyoming.

The ‘Bows may be back on the island after two weeks on the mainland, but this is too many points. As I’ve said before, I’m a big fan of Todd Graham, but I’m an even bigger fan of Rocky Long.

I trust the Lobos to cover here despite the drama they have going on due to Covid restrictions. I also think it’ll be a fairly low-scoring game compared to what the total is set at.

The Pick: New Mexico +15.5 Bet on this at BetMGM

Bonus Pick: Under 62.5
